No. Every file is encrypted on your device with keys we never see, and only the ciphertext reaches our servers. Even if our entire infrastructure were compromised, the contents would remain unreadable to us, to attackers, and to anyone who is not on your recipient list.
Keeplas uses a Life Check system that periodically verifies your presence. If you stop responding after your configured grace period, your trusted contacts confirm you are unreachable and your vault is delivered to your designated recipients, exactly as you planned.
Social recovery is built around a configurable M-of-N threshold, so losing a single shard never blocks delivery. You can rotate shards at any time (replace a contact, re-issue a lost key, or adjust the threshold) and the previous shard is invalidated as soon as the new one is generated.
